You can view the different services we have provided in the past by visiting our Markets page and viewing our projects there.
Plays a vital role in people’s experience, their day-to-day function and their understanding of the architecture. Whether natural or artificial, lighting is the medium that makes it possible to see and appreciate the beauty of our surroundings.
We believe in helping our clients by striking a balance between the following aspects of lighting design for their projects- aesthetic, where we focus on the emotional impact the balance of lighting and architecture will have on occupants; function, where we focus on the most important purpose of lighting which is to illuminate the space; and efficiency, where we focus on green initiatives and sustainability of the lighting design.
Lighting Control might be thought of as purely functional; however, lighting control is to lighting what lighting design is to architecture. A well-balanced lighting control system complements the lighting design in the space the same way lighting design complements the architectural style and features in a space. The balance between aesthetic, function, and efficiency must also be achieved in order to have a well-designed lighting control system.
Our lighting design services include interior, exterior, site, street, and roadway lighting design.
Commonly referred to as low voltage or telecommunication, ICT design is incorporation and integration of the appropriate technology with architectural and engineering systems. ICT systems include but are not limited to structured cabling, consisting wired and wireless, Audio-Visual, Distributed Antenna System (DAS) for emergency responders and cellular connection, Security and Access control, Video Surveillance and Closed-Circuit TV, Public Address System, Master Clock, Nurse Call, Cable Television distribution, and Fire Alarm System.
Not each and every system is applicable for every project and there are multiple ways to provide each applicable system; however, it is crucial to speak with a low voltage design consultant about your project needs. At Binomial Consulting Engineers, our expertise is at your disposal to ensure that the market appropriate application of network infrastructure is selected and implemented for your project needs.
The role of power distribution is not only to meet the electrical needs of the facility but to provide the power at the location that is needed. Power distribution design ensures adequacy of service and the energy supply path from the service, through transmission, to the point of utilization.
At Binomial Consulting Engineers, our power distribution solution spectrum will preserve and increase the value of our client’s facility by minimizing the consumption of the resources and amount of up-front capital for the project. We offer our specialized expertise in normal and emergency power distribution design including generators and uninterruptible power supply systems that are required for facilities with operational redundancy. Our power distribution design services also include lightning protection, grounding and bonding and power system studies.
While the main role of a heating, ventilation and air conditioning system (HVAC) is to create a conducive work place for building occupants; contrary to popular belief, HVAC systems are not simply used for temperature regulation. HVAC system not only regulates and maintains temperature levels in a building, but also regulates humidity and airflow, supply of fresh air and filtration. At Binomial Consulting Engineers, our mechanical engineering team with vast educational knowledge, experience and formal training, helps our clients from complex project with centralized plants with advanced control and energy management systems to simpler de-centralized systems. We analyze our client’s needs to design the solution that not only is well-suited for their facility but also takes into consideration the consumption of resources, cost-effectiveness, health and safety of occupants, serviceability and longevity.
The role of plumbing system in a building is to serves two main purposes; first to bring water into the structure for human use, and the second is to remove wastewater of various types. While there are three main types of plumbing systems in each building including potable water, sanitary drainage and storm water drainage; design of the plumbing system is a highly specialized task. At Binomial Consulting Engineers, our team with extensive experience in the field of plumbing engineering understands that an efficient plumbing system starts with analyzing the facility and the client’s needs and ends with a design that saves water and energy resources, incorporating short runs between plumbing fixtures and uses state-of-the art materials.
A complete fire protection system includes sub-systems of Detection, Alarm and Notification, and Suppression. With fire codes varying substantially across the country, even across jurisdictions, planning for fire protection involves an integrated approach in which system designers need to analyze building components as a total package. In most cases, the analysis needs to go beyond basic code compliance and the owner’s minimum legal responsibilities for providing protection. While detection, alarm and notification are provided via fire alarm system and fire suppression is commonly provided via sprinklers in the building; however, there are multiple active and passive fire suppression methodologies. At Binomial Consulting Engineers, we have the expertise and experience to help our client’s not only to navigate the ever-changing building codes but to engineer a system the meets their needs.
“You can’t manage what you can’t measure.” A well-designed energy management system reduces energy consumption; directly, through improved controls and, indirectly, by making energy consumption ‘visible’ without requiring staff to read meters. The system normalizes the interval data gathered to enable benchmarking of energy usage and assist in the identification and evaluation of energy efficiency opportunities.
At Binomial Consulting Engineers, we help our clients with strategy and design of a comprehensive energy metering and management system for their existing or new facility from the utility service down to individual circuits and equipment. Complete design of the system, includes the devices, cabling and head-end equipment and software. An innovative design technology and end-to-end software solution helps manage the complexity of the building operations and provides building managers peace of mind.
Power and Control in one Brilliant Solution! DLVP technology is intended to simplify the installation and amplify the control of LED lighting. In additions, it further optimizes the efficiency of solid-state lighting through centralized conversion of AC-to-DC power. At Binomial Consulting Engineers, we help our clients with design and commissioning of DLVP system ensuring a superb result both in terms of the ease of installation and controls capability of the lighting system.
DLVP design will utilize Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) technology, an open industry-standard platform, to power and network LED lighting using standard CAT6 Ethernet cable. Simplified installation, flexibility in control schemes and cost savings are just among the few benefits of this new design.
IoT and sensor technology system enables design of occupancy tracking systems throughout the facilities in order to utilize the captured data for future space planning and programming of the facility.
In the wake of COVID-19, Binomial Consulting Engineers is assisting our clients with their challenges of returning to the physical workplace by providing solutions and strategies aligned with their office goals. We utilize sensor technology to capture real-time data about what is happening inside the occupied space. The system can assist with minimizing personnel contact and makes accurate contact tracing possible. For instance, if you want to reconfigure seating in your office and reduce density in common areas, the system will help you identify the densely populated areas and helps validate the effectiveness after changes are made.
Binomial Consulting Engineers is committed to sustainable design and development. We believe engineering is all about improving people’s quality of life through pioneering technologies, and by improving social, environmental and economic impact.

The purpose of the FCA is to help clients and facility managers evaluate and identify the major building systems and equipment deficiencies which will require capital for repairs or replacement in the near and long term.
At Binomial Consulting Engineers, in addition to the site survey by our professional team members, we will obtain additional information through interviews with the facility staff, and review existing documentation. FCA will consist of a report including our professional recommendations to address all deficiencies as well as a five-year or ten-year capital spending plan estimating the rough order of magnitude of cost for improvements recommended over the respective time frame. The report will also include any code and regulation compliance issues and possible remedies with a given priority and severity order number.
The goal of the commissioning solution is to enhance the quality of the delivered project by focusing the design and construction team on the owner’s goals for a functional and energy efficient building. The earlier a commissioning provider is involved in the project, the greater the success of the commissioning process without additional costs in the future. The commissioning process consists of testing, adjusting, verifying, and training, to ensure a facility is operational and fully functional per the design intent and requirements.
At Binomial Consulting Engineers, in addition to said activities we perform planning, documenting, and scheduling of these activities as a part of requirement for LEED certified projects since commissioning process is a requirement of LEED Certified projects.
