Featured K-12 Education Projects
Dougherty Comprehensive High School Addition and Renovation Phase II.
Dougherty Comprehensive High School. Albany, GA. Project Completed in 2015.
The scope of this K-12 education project included engineering design services including structural, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical for renovations and additions to the existing Dougherty Comprehensive High School in Albany, Georgia. The existing school was transformed into a Center of Excellence for the Arts. The Vocational Wing (High School CTAE Career Pathways) includes Business Labs; Health Occupations Lab; Engineering, Drawing, and Design Lab; Automotive Service Technology Lab; Engineering and Technology Multi-Use Lab; and Personal Care Services/Cosmetology Labs. The Arts Center of Excellence wing includes a renovated auditorium, along with a Black Box Theater, dance studio, and music and art labs.
McNair Middle School Addition and Renovation
McNair Middle School. College Park, GA. Project Completed in 2016.
The project scope included engineering design of the existing middle school with conventional classrooms into groups of instructional spaces organized as “neighborhoods.” Individual classrooms and science labs in each k-12 education wing were reconfigured into three distinct yet interconnected neighborhoods, also known as learning communities. The redesign allowed teachers to interact with more than one class at a time, evoking a greater sense of community and communication between learning areas.
Taylor Road Middle School Addition and Renovation
Taylor Road Middle School. Johns Creek, GA. Project Completed in 2015.
The project scope included an addition of 10 instructional units in the building’s new ‘neighborhood’ configuration. In addition, the engineering design consisted of a kitchen expansion and renovation of the serving line and dinning areas, renovation and expansion of the art room, a new Administration Wing and a second cross-corridor.
