Decatur public works

Public Works Facility City of Decatur

Public Works Facility City of Decatur. Decatur, GA. Project Completed in 2012.


The scope of this project included providing design services for renovations and additions to the Decatur Public Works Facility. Two adjacent properties were combined to expand space for the various Public Works departments, as well as consolidating two other City departments: City Schools of Decatur Facilities and Grounds Maintenance; and the Planning, Zoning and Engineering departments. The existing 15,000 square foot facility was completely renovated with all new systems, finishes, furniture and equipment, and included 15,000 square feet of new construction. The project, which is now LEED Gold certified, incorporated the City of Decatur’s design guidelines for streetscape and pedestrian street enhancements. Role: Electrical Engineer

National Archives Atlanta

National Archives Air Handling Unit Replacement. Atlanta, GA. Project Completed in 2017.

 

The scope for this local government project included replacement of AHU serving the cold storage area at national archives, along with re-design of fire sprinkler system including a clean agent fire suppression and a preventive air sampling system. Electrical engineering scope of work included revisions and update to the power distribution systems for connection to the new AHU and connections to the new fire suppression systems and coordination with the fire alarm and air sampling systems. Role: Electrical Engineer of Record


state park group shelter - Gordonia Altamaha

Gordonia-Alatamaha State Park Group Shelter

Gordonia-Alatamaha State Park Group Shelter

Georgia Department of Natural Resources. Reidsville, GA. Project Completed in 2010. 


The scope for this project included full engineering design services for a new prototypical group shelter building at Gordonia-Alatamaha State Park to replace the existing facilities. The Group Shelter Building features an assembly space, self-service kitchen, restroom facilities, and a covered porch overlooking the scenic wetlands. The project also includes a screened Grill Building and Day-Use Restroom Facilities. Role: Electrical Engineer

    Civic Projects

    Panola Mountain State Park, CRS Building and HPD Office Building. Stockbridge, GA. Project Completed in 2016.

    The offices of the Georgia Historic Preservation Division is located within Panola Mountain State Park. These two adjacent buildings totals 8,000 square-foot of office for Department of Natural Resources. Role: Electrical Engineer


    National Archives & Records Administration - Cold Storage Room. Morrow, GA. Project Completed in 2018.

    The scope of this project provided construction phase services to replace the entire system for air handling unit 8 serving the Cold Storage Room, including ductwork, refrigerant piping, and desiccant dehumidification and converting existing wet pipe/dry head sprinkler system to a pre-action dry pipe system with compressor and monitoring interface. Role: Electrical Engineer of Record


    Milton Branch Library, Fulton County Public Library. Milton, GA. Project Completed in 2011. 

    The scope of this project included mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering design services for the new 25,000 square foot Milton Branch Library. The project included a public art component from Fulton County's Public Art Program. Green building design and sustainability were also a priority for the project, which achieved LEED Silver certification in June of 2016. 


    Stonecrest Branch Library, Dekalb County Public Library. Lithonia, GA. Project Completed in 2010. 

    The scope of this project included interior and exterior lighting design in direct coordination with the client and the architect to achieve LEED Certification. It also included electrical power distribution design and equipment sizing, design analysis and lighting calculations, system and communication, security system and fire alarm design. 

     

    Pinellas County Courthouse Renovation. St. Petersburg, FL. Project Currently Under Construction. 

    This design-build service for Manhattan Construction included renovation of the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors of the existing courthouse.  The work consisted of an upgrade to the existing engineering systems including electrical distribution, lighting and lighting control, plumbing mechanical, and fire sprinkler system. In addition, new public restrooms and ADA compliant upgrades to the courtrooms was designed as well as modifications to judges chambers, jury assembly rooms, and conference rooms.  The project required phased construction as the building will remain occupied during construction. Role: Electrical Engineer of Record


    Broward County Courthouse – East wing Enabling Project. Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Project Currently Under Construction.

    In preparation for renovation of east wing of the Broward County judicial center, this project included modification to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floor of the east wing to create swing space for current building occupants and employees. Electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and low voltage systems in multiple areas of the building was modified to accommodate this transition. Role: Electrical Engineer


    Broward County Courthouse – Complex Trial Courtroom – North Tower. Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Project Currently Under Construction. 

    Design of approximately 35,000 square-feet of the 17th floor shell space located in the main tower at Broward County judicial center. New design includes complex trial court room, judges chamber, jury deliberation room, office and conference space and public restroom and circulation routes. Role: Electrical Engineer
